Join us for a workshop on the Future of US Single-Dish Radio Astronomy

With the threatened NSF divestiture from both Arecibo and the Green Bank Telescope along with the end of the University Radio Observatories program and reduced federal support for astronomy overall, the future of single-dish radio astronomy in the U.S. is murky. The goal of this workshop is to begin planning for the upcoming decadal survey by addressing the following questions:

Meeting Information

Questions we hope to address:

  • What are the primary science drivers for U.S. single-dish radio astronomy in the next decade?

  • What new advances in instrumentation and software are needed to maximize the scientific return of U.S. single-dish telescopes?

  • What is the role for U.S. single-dish radio telescopes in the next decade given the current and planned suite of telescopes world-wide?

There will be plenty of time for discussion during meeting sessions and breaks. Attendance will be limited to 35 people. Meals and coffee provided. No registration fee.
